After a weekend preview of two days, Genghis Grill opens to the public today Monday in Chantilly Crossing Shopping Center.
In anticipation of this weekend overview, staff has distributed 300,300 free meals and free meal coupons in the community. The Chantilly location is opening on the heels of increased openness of Genghis Grill ever, and the first in the region in the region of Alexandria, Kingstown. The company has sought in areas such as Chantilly had a high population density and growth to start the new restaurants. Soon they will open a third location outside of the Sterling Highway 7.
The idea behind Genghis Grill has loose ties back to our region. Nearly 25 years, the company president, Keith Sullins, ate at a Mongolian barbecue in the Washington DC area. He knew then that he wanted to build a similar restaurant. Several years later, he was asked to find a restaurant that was healthy, but also tasted good, when it fell to Genghis Grill in Dallas, Texas. He drove four hours to experience the restaurant, then drove home for his family to take them too. He had found that healthy food tasted good.
Locally, Carlos Politano Genghis Grill is the leader in the market of Virginia. He brings over 20 years of restaurant experience with him. He is excited about the second store opening here in Chantilly, because "it is a great community, and I know that people will like our concept."
The fan (customer) readers experiences Genghis - you design your own meal, with good quality products, in a pleasant atmosphere and very clean. People can eat healthy for a good value. The fan experience begins with a silver cup empty.If they are new to Genghis Grill, the server will guide them to the lines and give them some advice. Fans are encouraged to choose foods they like, but if they feel overwhelmed, there are twelve recipe cards available to help them design their meal. Everyone is encouraged to pile vegetables rich because they shrink during cooking. Once the fan is designed their bowl, they come to the sauce. On each line, there is a coach to help you choose the sauce just for you. Tasting is encouraged to find exactly the right heat and flavor for every meal.
