Restaurant review: Chip n Dale, Paphos

When my dinner companion called to say bookings were made in a new restaurant in Kato Paphos called Chippendales, I can not wait to be greeted by watching a strong jaw and thigh server farm, all dressed in the costume of the upper body distinctive bow tie and shirt cuffs, worn over a bare-chested, but otherwise well-oiled.

Unfortunately I had had the wrong name, this new restaurant was not created as a tribute to the culinary erotic dance troupe, on the contrary, in fact, was in honor of Chip n Dale, the duo chipmunk adventure created by Walt Disney.

Julien, co-owner of Chip n Dale welcomed us when we arrived equipped reassuring in both pants and a shirt, his business partner and chief Relu was properly dressed in white chef full. I honestly believe that neither man realized the close connection of their name may have with these women over the past 20 years have enjoyed the erotic scene gyrations of a dance half-naked men.

The food served at Chip n Dale is good, the standard rate with no-nonsense cooking and some nice flashes of delight particular starter substantial warm chicken livers served on a bed of spinach that left a nice garlic flavor on the palate, as the board Moorish and quite delicious crunchy, fresh taste and bruschetta on a warm evening that the combination with a glass of wine would indeed suffice.

Reread proudly boasts that everything is fresh in his kitchen because he is a man with a deep aversion to frozen foods, but with a love of fresh vegetables so expect chips by hand, with the days of the purchase of vegetables market, meat, fish and fruit and decent local wines at reasonable prices.

My partner enthusiastically dug into a Surf and Turf - Steak in partnership with juicy shrimp, which he voted as a main course more than acceptable, especially if hungry healthy.I opted for sea bream and even if it was good it could have been cooked a little less to my taste, but again it was a nice dish to set before a woman who had been anticipating more beef than fish cake. A young couple in front of us were happily slipped into a pork chop with gorgonzola sauce and duck with raspberry sauce, and all dishes come with a small but clean menu of fish dishes, poultry and meat with a half a dozen choices of pasta and a good selection of broccoli salad with seafood and of course a chip n Dale salad which I assume will come with something a nutty aroma signature.
